What is shadow work?▼
Shadow work is the practice of uncovering the protective habits you built long ago — softening, over-explaining, disappearing, lashing out, etc. — so they no longer run the show. Once you can see a pattern clearly, it loses its grip on you.
How does AI analysis work?▼
Write out a real situation, then tap Analyze. RevelKey analyzes your entry and names the pattern or patterns running underneath it, then it provides a reflection you can sit with or continue the conversation with the chat feature within the journal analysis.
How does AI Chat work?▼
Use the AI chat feature like you're talking to a coach. Someone who's going to cut through the nonsense and give you truth. Use it for problem solving, decision making, and identifying shadows playing out. You can also save chats as journal entries and move them into breakthroughs.
Is my journal private?▼
Yes. Your entries are encrypted at rest and are only processed by OpenAI to generate your personal analysis, chat responses, recaps, and breakthroughs. Your data is never used to train or improve their models.
What are Pattern Recaps?▼
Every 7, 28, and 364 days RevelKey looks across your entries and shows what patterns keep repeating — themes, shadows to watch, growth practices, etc. Use this section for a bird's-eye view of what's been playing out.
What should I save as a Breakthrough?▼
Save a breakthrough when a reflection or chat session gives you a clear insight about a pattern, a new way of seeing yourself, or a moment you want to remember and revisit.
How do I export my data?▼
Go to Settings → Import/Export and tap Export Data. Your entries are saved as a JSON file you can store on your device or computer.
Can I import journal entries from my computer or another app?▼
Yes. You can import a previously exported RevelKey JSON backup file. You can also import entries from other popular journaling apps as plain text or markdown files. Go to Settings → Import/Export → upload the file and tap Import.
Can I save chat sessions as journal entries?▼
Yes. During or after a chat, click the 3 dots in the top right hand corner, and tap Save as Journal Entry to turn the conversation into a journal entry you can analyze later. You can also just save the chat by clicking Finish & Archive.
How does personalization work?▼
When you opt in, RevelKey can use your name, goals, and focus areas from the settings page to make reflections and breakthroughs feel more relevant and personal. You can turn this on or off anytime in Settings.
How do I reset my password?▼
On the sign-in screen, tap 'Forgot password?' and enter the email on your account. We'll email you a link to set a new password. If you don't receive the link, check your spam folder, or wait and try again. If you still have issues, send us an email.
How do I change my subscription?▼
Subscriptions are managed through your device's account settings. Open settings on your device, find subscriptions, click RevelKey, then click see all plans. You can select a new plan there.
How do I cancel my subscription?▼
Subscriptions are managed through your device's account settings. Open Settings on your device, find subscriptions, click RevelKey, and you can cancel your trial or subscription there.
Are there any refunds?▼
No. Once you purchase a plan, you'll have access for the duration of that plan.
Account & data
- To delete your account and all associated data, go to the app Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- To update your email address, go to the app Settings → Import/Export to export your data, create a new account with your new email address, then import your data into the new account. If you have issues, email us at revelkeyapp@gmail.com.
- To reset your password, use the Forgot password link on the login page. If the reset email doesn't arrive, check your spam. If you can’t find it or need help, email us at revelkeyapp@gmail.com.
- For data portability, use the Import/Export feature in Settings to download your journal entries.
